Access to the headlamp bulbs becomes possible by first removing the rubber cups. Begin by installing the new bulbs before putting on the rubber cups for installation. The electrical connector ties to the lamp assembly first while replacing the lamp assembly back to its position in the vehicle by using headlamp assembly retainer pins before securing the front grille. Be vigilant about the high voltage and current operations of the high intensity discharge system since opening the ballast or arc tube assembly or probing between electrical connectors causes severe shocks and burns. Maintain safe distances between the arc tube and the headlamp housing as well as bulb shield when uninstalling or installing to prevent any damage from occurring.

When fitting the new bulbs, remember to replace a high beam bulb with another high beam bulb which has a red gasket and the low beam bulb another low beam bulb that has a gray tip and yellow gasket on its base. Place rubber cup back, reconnect the electrical connector to the lamp assembly, reinstall the lamp assembly into the vehicle, and secure headlamp assembly with the retainer pins, and finally reinstall the front grille.
