    Q:
How to replace the Air Bag Clockspring in the steering wheel module on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the air bag clock spring requires sir system disablement. Start by removing the air bag clock spring before proceeding to remove the Steering Wheel and upper and lower shrouds. You must disconnect wire harness straps from the Steering Wheel column wire harness before taking out the retaining ring. Move the air bag clock spring from the Steering Shaft for removal. The installation of the new air bag clock spring requires alignment onto the Steering Shaft using the retaining ring securing method. Position the air bag clock spring at the center of its installation point for correct alignment. Secure the lower coil wire harness inside the steering column jacket before reconnecting its wire harness straps to the steering column wire harness. The installation process ends with the replacement of Steering Wheel components including the reinstallation of the upper and lower shrouds and the Steering Wheel itself as well as the air bag clock spring. Finally, enable the sir system.
