    Q:
How to Replace the Front Floor Center Console on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin replacement of front floor console work by disconnecting the battery negative cable and implementing the parking brake. First move the shift lever into the lowest position after which remove the console trim plate and storage compartment mat. Start by removing bolts at three locations: storage compartment area, transaxle shift lever-mounting bracket and lh and rh front sides of the console. First disconnect electrical connectors from the console then push it backwards to free instrument panel retainers before removing it from the vehicle. Begin installation by inserting the front floor console into the vehicle then joining electrical wires and positioning the console above the transaxle shifter until it locks properly with the instrument panel. Sliding the console into its final position then securing the forward restraint bolts to 5 n.m (44 lb in) tension before tightening both the transaxle shifter lever and storage area bolts to the same torque rating. First replace the rubber mat inside the storage area then install the trim plate followed by positioning the transaxle shift lever to park and releasing the parking brake before reconnecting the vehicle's negative Battery Cable.
