    Q:
How to replace the Center Console in a small car with a manual transmission on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for changing a console in a small vehicle with a manual transmission is to take off the retaining strips from the shift lever boot and afterward, remove the bolts securing the inside rear seat track on each front seat. Raise the console to free the 4 retainers and then take it out of the vehicle. During installation, make sure the console is lined up with the holes in the floor panel for the retainers. Hold down the console so the retainers lock in, then install the seat track bolts on both front seats, and tighten them to 53 n.m (39 lb ft). After that, secure the retaining strips onto the shift lever bezel.

    Q:
How to replace the Center Console in those with a large console and either manual or automatic transmission on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
Routineleanup for console changes in vehicles with large consoles and manual or automatic transmissions begins by removing the front bucket passenger seat in regular cab models. Front bucket seat fasteners that hold the floor console to the floor need removal for regular, extended and crew cab vehicle models. Vehicles with floor-mounted shift levers should begin replacement by uninstalling their shift lever bezel along with their boot. Raise the console's front and middle segments before the retaining components disengage so you can pull off the assembly from your vehicle. To install the console keep it in position on the floor panel while making sure the retainers sink into their designated holes and positioning the console bracket beneath the seat frame. Push down the console to lock its retainers before you can reinstall the shift lever bezel and boot provided your vehicle has them. Then attach the console bolts to finish the installation. Users must reinstall the front bucket seat if needed during the process.
