    The service procedure for the 4l60-e automatic Transmission Oil Cooler starts by removing the grille assembly. First disconnect the Oil Cooler line from its attachment point to the Oil Cooler before removing the bolt which attaches the auxiliary Oil Cooler brackets to the radiator support. Service begins by removing the four bolts and nuts which fasten the auxiliary Oil Cooler between its two brackets. Secure the auxiliary Oil Cooler to the brackets first by passing four bolts into four nuts then tighten all bolts to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). You should put the four bolts through the radiator support to attach the Oil Cooler brackets before final tightening to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Finish the installation by hooking up the Oil Cooler line and installing the grille into position.

    First, take off the grille assembly, to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler. Then remove the two nuts that have supported the cooler lines to the Oil Cooler. For other vehicles that do not have the 4.3l engine, pull off the bolts that hold the auxiliary Oil Cooler to the radiator support that are all four. For vehicles with 4.3l engine, also take out the four bolts that fasten auxiliary Oil Cooler to radiator support. If installing, ensure installing the four bolts that hold the Oil Cooler to the radiator support for each engine type that are installed and are tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Finally, reinstall the grille assembly.

    You should start the service by removing the Oil Cooler line from the Transmission Oil Cooler. Then, take off the four bolts that bond the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler brackets to the radiator support and also take off the four bolts and nuts that connect the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler to the brackets. To install, fix the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler to the brackets using the supplied bolts and nuts, tighten them to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). After that, put in the four bolts that attach the Transmission Oil Cooler brackets to the radiator support and tighten them to no more than 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). The cooler line from the engine should then be joined to the Transmission Oil Cooler.
