    How to service the transmission oil cooler line quick connect fitting on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer

    To service the Transmission Oil Cooler line quick connect fitting start by breaking the plastic cap away from the quick connect fitting and down the runner along the cooler line approx. 5 cm (2 inches). Use your bent-tip to pull one of the open points of the retaining ring around the quick connect fitting till it is out of place and could be entirely removed from the fitting. Remove the retaining ring and pull out the cooler line from the quick connecting point in a straight fashion. When installing a new retaining ring (E-clip), hook one of the open ends into one of the slots on the quick connect fitting and spin it until all three ears are fed through the three slots. Adjust the retaining ring to freely glide in the fitting slots, do not install it by pressing. Do this for the rest of the quick connect fittings and install the cooler lines by introducing the end of the cooler line into the quick connect to a click is sensed or heard. Do not place the plastic cap to install the cooler line instead, pull back vigorously on the cooler line until it is securely locked in the quick connect fitting. Install the plastic cap onto the fitting without the need to manually press the retaining ring into place, making sure the cap is fully seated onto the fitting without any gap noted and that the yellow identification band on the tube is hidden inside of the quick connect fitting as proof of proper seating of both the joint and the cap. Finally, check for the transmission fluid level.
