    The first thing to do to replace the rear compartment lid lock cylinder on the impala is to take off the rear compartment lid applique. Afterward, peel out the 2 rivets that secure the lock cylinder to the rear compartment lid, then take away the lock cylinder and gasket. To install, line up the lock cylinder shaft with the rear compartment lid latch, and then put the lock cylinder and gasket over the holes in the lid, pressing them in until they sit flushed. Affix the lock cylinder and gasket to the rear compartment lid using 2 rivets, and then put the rear compartment lid applique back in place.

    You should begin by removing the rear compartment lid applique of the impala. Drill the 2 rear compartment lock cylinder rivets before taking out the lock cylinder and gasket from the lid. Put the lock cylinder through the lid's holes until it fits completely into the rear compartment. Fasten the lock cylinder with its gasket into the lid through 2 rivets afterwards place back the rear compartment lid applique.
