Lock Actuator, Rear

Replacement of the Door Lock begins by raising the window before removing the front side door trim panel then possibly also the water deflector. The lock cylinder rod should be detached from the lock cylinder pawl clip while you use a screwdriver to slide the lock cylinder retainer upward before removal. First remove the Door Lock Cylinder that sits inside the door before taking out its gasket that exists on the door . Begin Door Lock replacement by putting a new lock cylinder gasket carefully onto the door surface before inserting the Door Lock Cylinder. You can secure the lock cylinder retainer through downward screwdriver movement before attaching the lock cylinder rod to the lock cylinder pawl clip. Reinstall the water deflector according to requirements while you attach the front side door trim panel before putting down the window.

Replacement of an impala rear side Door Lock Actuator requires beginning with removal of the rear Door Lock. First unfasten the screws that hold the rear Door Lock to the rear Door Lock Actuator then separate the rear door actuator from the rear Door Lock. You should position the rear door actuator correctly against the rear Door Lock and then install its screws before tightening them to 2 nm torque specification (18 lb in). Reinstall the rear Door Lock at the completion of the process.

Take out the screws securing the rear door lock to the rear door lock actuator.

Tighten them to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

Next, detach the front door actuator from the front door lock.

Reinstall the front door lock.

Install the lock actuator screws and tighten them to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
