Muffler & Pipe

You must first support and lift up your vehicle before starting to replace the exhaust Muffler with resonator, exhaust, and Tail Pipe. First remove Muffler to Catalytic Converter nuts before installing suitable support points to the exhaust system. Unbolt the center Exhaust Hanger from the rear suspension support bracket until it detaches. Then remove the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket from its bolt connecting it to the rear compartment rail. Type assistance while lowering the exhaust system from its position before disposing of the Catalytic Converter to Muffler gasket. Start by loosening the rear Exhaust Hanger to Exhaust Hanger bracket nut and remove the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket from the rear Exhaust Hanger. During installation secure the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket to the rear Exhaust Hanger while honoring fastener warnings. Fasten the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket nut to 30 nm (22 lb ft) torque. First install a new Muffler to Catalytic Converter gasket over the Catalytic Converter studs before you assist with raising the exhaust system as you reinstall it. Tighten the rear compartment rail bolt through the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket until reaching 50 nm torque (37 lb ft). Attach the center exhaust hangers onto rear suspension support bracket bolts and torque them to 30 nm (22 lb ft). Tighten the Muffler to Catalytic Converter nuts to a torque of 25 nm (18 lb ft) before dropping the vehicle to the ground.

Secure the muffler to catalytic converter nuts until snug.

Place the exhaust crossover pipe seals onto the exhaust manifolds, then install the exhaust crossover pipe.

Remove the exhaust crossover from the engine, discarding the old exhaust crossover pipe seal.
