How to replace the crossover exhaust pipe on LZE/LZ4/LGD engines on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the exhaust crossover pipe on lze/lz4/lgd engines requires removal of the air cleaner outlet duct. Begin the replacement by removing the electrical bolts connecting the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield followed by removing this protective shield. Arella out the exhaust crossover pipe nuts then detach the pipe before cleaning off the seals from the crossover pipe area. Installation of the exhaust crossover pipe begins with positioning the exhaust crossover pipe seals onto the exhaust manifolds followed by installing the exhaust crossover pipe. Attention should focus on secure fastening operations since nuts require a torque setting of 20 nm (15 lb ft). Replace the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield by installing bolts which should be secured at 10 nm torque limit (89 lb in). After finishing with this task return the air cleaner intake duct into its original position.
