    Q:
How is the muffler serviced from the catalytic converter to the tail pipe on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Muffler is worked on as one unit from the Catalytic Converter down through Tail Pipe. Start by lifting and supporting the vehicle, without creating internal damage to the flexible coupling for the Catalytic Converter assembly, being mindful to support it; recession at the rear of the Catalytic Converter assembly should not exceed 6 degrees up or down. Mount the Catalytic Converter using a utility stand and then disconnect the Catalytic Converter to Muffler nuts as well as the Catalytic Converter to Muffler gasket. Then, remove the exhaust hanger insulators on the Exhaust Pipe and disconnect the Muffler assembly towards the front of the vehicle and above the rear axle. Therefore, install the Muffler assembly to the rear axle as well as rear of the vehicle, and install the exhaust hanger insulators on the exhaust pipes and a new Catalytic Converter Gasket. Install the Catalytic Converter to Muffler nuts and tighten it with 34 n.m (25 lb ft) and finally lower the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the Exhaust Pipe on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process begins by taking out the air cleaner outlet duct and disconnecting heater hoses from heater pipes. Proceed to remove Throttle Body nuts on the heater pipes until the pipes can be positioned aside. Start by unscrewing the exhaust crossover heat shield bolts before taking out its heat shield and then move on to removing exhaust crossover pipe nuts followed by the pipe and finally taking out the exhaust crossover pipe seals. You should start by adding exhaust crossover pipe seals to the manifolds before installing the exhaust crossover pipe using exhaust crossover pipe nuts while tightening them to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Install the exhaust crossover heat shield alongside its bolts and fasten them with 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque. Reposition the heater pipes then reinstall nuts on the Throttle Body before remounting heater hoses and completing with the air cleaner outlet duct installation.
