Oil Filter

The first step begins with raising and supporting the vehicle when changing engine oil and Oil Filter. Place your drain pan below the engine oil Drain Plug and then take out the plug from its location. Check and clean the Drain Plug before replacing it when necessary. Examination of the Oil Pan sealing surface must also occur and the Oil Pan requires replacement if needed. Afterward clean the sealing area on the Oil Filter adapter before inspecting whether replacement of the adapter is needed. Pour oil inside the new Oil Filter before applying a slight coat of clean oil to its gasket. Begin by installing the new Oil Filter then tighten it while letting the gasket reach the mounting surface until it achieves 3/4 to 1 full turn. Install the engine oil Drain Plug with a torque of 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Before adding new engine oil to the vehicle lower it and inspect fluid levels and follow lubricant guidelines. After the engine starts you should check for any oil leak occurrences.

Raising the vehicle for support is the first step when you need to replace engine oil and Oil Filter. The new Oil Filter requires filling with oil while its gasket needs a small amount of clean oil before installation. Place the new Oil Filter before tightening it to 32 nm (24 lb ft) and proceed to install the engine oil Drain Plug which requires a torque of 20 nm (15 lb ft). Before filling the new engine oil begin by lowering the vehicle to avoid injuring yourself. You need to check fluid recommendations along with fluid capacity levels. Check for oil leakages after beginning engine operation.

Raise and support the vehicle, and place a suitable drain below the oil pan drain plug.

Clean and inspect the sealing surface on the oil pan, repairing or replacing it if needed.

Fill the engine with new engine oil, checking the approximate fluid capacities and fluid recommendations.

Use a 6-point socket to remove the oil filter cap, noting that it is normal for oil to drain from the oil filter chamber.
