    Q:
How to service and repair the Throttle Body on Chevrolet Lumina? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start throttler body maintenance by draining coolant before continuing. Start by eliminating the air intake tube while disconnecting the iac valve electrical connector and the tp sensor electrical connector and the accelerator controls cable. Locate and detach the accelerator control cable bracket before you disconnect each Throttle Body coolant bypass hose and remove the heater pipe nut at the Throttle Body. To extract the Throttle Body assembly from the Intake Manifold remove all bolts and nuts connecting it. The gasket surfaces on the Intake Manifold need solvent-free cleaning while using sharp tools requires special caution to protect against damage. Clean both surfaces of the gaskets before installing a new gasket if required then replace the Throttle Body assembly. Secure the Throttle Body retaining nuts and bolts in place with a torque setting of 28 nm (21 lb ft). Reconnect all components including Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses along with the heater pipe nut and iac valve electrical connector and tp sensor electrical connector. Install the accelerator controls cable bracket first then reconnect the accelerator controls cable before returning the air intake tube. The coolant needs refilling while the throttle requires a check for proper operational movement between complete closure and wide open position. Note that the throttle operates throughout its entire range by testing pedal motion while verifying proper ground clearance for the pedal carpet.
