    Q:
How to replace the rear liftgate hinge on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
When working with the rear compartment lid hinge mark its position on the lid using a grease pencil through the open compartment. Unplug the lid connection from the rear storage area while you take off the hinge between the rear compartment and the lid parts. Take off both struts from the rear compartment. Write the grease pencil marks on the quarter panel before you detach the bolts that secure the hinge to the rear quarter panel. Then take the hinge assembly off the quarter panel. Line the hinge with the marks on the quarter panel and tighten bolts at 25 N.m to attach it to the rear quarter. Place back the rear compartment struts and tighten the rear compartment lid nuts. Adjust the rear compartment lid height using an Allen key to alter the rear compartment hinge but you can use hand pressure to adjust the rear compartment lid bracket.

    Q:
How to replace the rear liftgate hinge on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start the job open the rear compartment then trace the hinge spot on the lid with a greasy marker for installation. Take off both rear compartment hinge to lid nuts by disconnecting the lid harness in the compartment. You should take out the support struts from the rear compartment for this task. Trace the hinge position on the quarter panel with a grease pencil before disconnecting bolts that hold it in place against the back quarter. To set the hinge in place line up the mark you made on the quarter panel earlier and fasten the bolts to secure the hinge to the rear part, tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Put back the rear compartment struts before tightening the rear compartment lid nuts. Use both hand movement and an Allen wrench to change the rear compartment lid height through its bumpers while adjusting the rear compartment hinge.
