How to replace the rear liftgate hinge on 2005 Buick Century?

After opening the rear compartment you should use a grease pencil to mark the hinge position for placement on the lid. Take the connector out from the rear compartment before you untighten the hinge-to-lid nuts in the rear compartment. Detach the struts inside the front compartment. Use a grease pencil on the quarter panel to set your installation position and after uninstalling the bolts take off the hinge from the rear quarter. Use the pencil marks on the quarter panel as reference to put the hinge in position before screwing on the bolts at 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Place back the rear compartment struts and tightened rear compartment lid nuts. Apply the Allen wrench to change the hinge height adjustment bumper for better seat placement. Then control the rear compartment lid bumper manually to finish the adjustments before closing the rear compartment.
