    Q: How to replace the rear liftgate hinge on Buick Century?
    A: When working with the rear compartment lid hinge mark its position on the lid using a grease pencil through the open compartment. Unplug the lid connection from the rear storage area while you take off the hinge between the rear compartment and the lid parts. Take off both struts from the rear compartment. Write the grease pencil marks on the quarter panel before you detach the bolts that secure the hinge to the rear quarter panel. Then take the hinge assembly off the quarter panel. Line the hinge with the marks on the quarter panel and tighten bolts at 25 N.m to attach it to the rear quarter. Place back the rear compartment struts and tighten the rear compartment lid nuts. Adjust the rear compartment lid height using an Allen key to alter the rear compartment hinge but you can use hand pressure to adjust the rear compartment lid bracket.
