    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line on Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
To change the rear brake hose open your vehicle and first remove its left front wheel assembly. Cleaning both brake hose and pipe components removes debris and foreign objects before capping the outlet with a rubber plug. Hook a flat tool under the brake hose retainer and remove it from the brake hose crossover pipe connection. Eject the brake hose from its frame placement and the caliper bolt from the brake caliper before taking the brake hose out of the vehicle. Strike the threaded brake hose end onto a towel to remove the gasket and discard the 2 stuck copper gaskets from the brake caliper or brake hose end. Insert a rubber plug into the brake caliper bolt hole of the brake caliper. Install new copper gaskets when joining the brake hose to caliper bolt socket. Connect the brake hose, new copper brake hose gaskets, and brake hose bolt together on the brake hose before installing the brake hose to caliper bolt on the brake caliper. Tighten the bolt to 50 n.m (37 lb ft) without twisting or kinking the brake hose. Fit the brake hose on the frame structure before placing the brake hose retainer on the brake hose and taking off the rubber cover from the crossover pipe end. Then insert and tighten the brake pipe fitting onto the brake hose to 18 n.m torque. To complete the process drain the brake fluid from the system then put back the rear wheel parts and lower the car.
