    Q:
How to Replace an A/C Hose in a Compressor Hose Assembly on Chevrolet Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step when replacing the compressor hose assembly requires recovering the refrigerant. First remove the air cleaner assembly followed by the A/C Compressor hose nut from the A/C Condenser then detach the A/C Compressor hose from the condenser. Sealant liquid must go first then remove the A/C Compressor hose nut connecting the compressor hose block to the evaporator tube before removing the A/C Compressor hose from the evaporator tube. Begin by taking out the correspondent lower air deflector as well as the A/C Compressor hose bolt from the A/C Compressor before removing the A/C Compressor hose itself. Discard all sealing washers. Install new sealing washers to the A/C Compressor hose assembly before attaching the compressor hose to the A/C Compressor unit while tightening the nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). Before installation the technician should put back the lower air deflector and add new seal washers onto both the A/C Compressor hose assembly and evaporator tube. The A/C Compressor hose must be connected to the evaporator tube where technicians apply maximum torque of 16 n.m (12 lb ft). After that, attach the A/C Compressor hose to the condenser and tighten the tomato-engconfigure hose nut at 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Reinstallation of the air cleaner assembly will complete the procedure along with a/c system evacuation and recharge followed by halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) usage for fitting leak testing.
