2005 Chevrolet Impala A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in a Compressor Hose Assembly on 2005 Chevrolet Impala?
A: The first step when replacing the compressor hose assembly should be refrigerant recovery. First remove the air cleaner assembly and afterward detach the A/C Compressor hose from the condenser by unthreading the hose nut. Begin by disconnecting the A/C Compressor hose from the evaporator tube after removing its securing compressor hose nut from the compressor hose block to the evaporator tube. Starting with the lower air deflector removal you should proceed to detach the A/C Compressor hose nut from the A/C Compressor before removing the A/C Compressor hose from the A/C Compressor and discarding the sealing washers. Attach the A/C Compressor hose to the A/C Compressor while using new sealing washers and tighten the A/C Compressor hose nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). Install the lower deflector before adding new washers to the A/C Compressor hose assembly and evaporator tube and connecting the hose to the tube using a torque of 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Fasten the A/C Compressor hose to the condenser using the A/C Compressor hose nut while tightening it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). After completing these steps the technician must reinstall the air cleaner assembly followed by system evacuation and recharging then conduct a leak test using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
