    Q:
How to replace the fuel filler hose on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure to replace the Fuel Tank filler pipe starts with Fuel Tank drainage followed by bolt removal from the fuel fill pipe to fill pipe housing then the fuel fill pocket. Start by raising the vehicle while providing support then complete the removal of the fuel fill pipe lower bolt. The fuel fill pipe replacement requires disconnecting Fuel Tank vent pipe quick connect fittings (1, 3) and loosening the fuel fill pipe hose clamp at the Fuel Tank before extracting the fuel fill pipe hose from both the Fuel Tank and from the vehicle. To install the component first position the fuel fill pipe on the vehicle then put the fuel fill pipe hose on the Fuel Tank and torque the fuel fill pipe hose clamp at the Fuel Tank to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Connect the two Fuel Tank vent pipe quick connect fittings (1, 3) while installing the fuel fill pipe lower bolt which requires a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in). First lower the vehicle before installing the fuel fill pocket and fastening the fuel fill pipe to fill pipe housing bolts with a torque of 1.5 n.m (13 lb in). Ask a colleague to install the fuel fill pipe upper bolt to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in) and lower bolt to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Then have them refill the Fuel Tank and install the fuel fill cap.
