    Q:
How to replace the Power Steering Hose Return Line on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start repairing the p/s return line by lifting and sustaining the automobile. Primary operations include removing the power steering gear heatshield followed by the Power Steering Hose retainers from the engine frame. You need to disconnect the Power Steering Hose from the steering gear and drain all power steering fluid from within. Start by disconnecting power steering equipment from the Power Steering Pump followed by power steering line retainer detachment at the power steering gear to extract the hose outside the vehicle. Position the hose before installing it to the pump while tightening the power steering gear inlet hose clamp to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). The power steering line should be attached to the steering gear after which the connection must be tightened using a torque of 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). First install the retainers and bolts before tightening the retainer bolts to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.), after which reinstall the power steering gear heatshield. Finish the job by lowering the vehicle then performing a power steering system fill-up and bleeding process.
