    Q:
How to replace the front brake line on a dual piston caliper on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before working on a dual piston caliper front brake hose you must raise your vehicle and take off its front wheel and tire. Uncover dirt on both brake hoses and brake pipe fitting before loosening the brake pipe fitting at the brake hose fitting and at the frame. Protected brake pipe fitting ends with caps shield the fluid from escaping and getting dirty. After cleaning brake hardware, unfasten the brake pipe retainer and its screws from the upper Control Arm and the brake hose bolt from the caliper alongside its gaskets to remove the front brake hose. Pull out all stuck metal gaskets that are trapped in the brake hose bolt. Use new copper gaskets with the brake hose bolt during installation while keeping the hose straightaway from suspension parts. Replace the front brake hose onto the brake caliper then fasten the bolt to 54 nm (40 ft. Lbs.) tightness. Insert the brake hose into the brake pipe fitting before tightening the fitting at 17 nm using a back up wrench while keeping the rubber cap removed. Push the brake hose retention bracket onto the upper Control Arm before adding a bolt and nut that requires a tight force of 22 nm (16 ft. Lbs.). Afterward, fasten the brake hose clip to the vehicle's body. Close the bleeder valve after bleeding the hydraulic system and put back the wheel and tire. Lower the car afterward.

    Q:
How to replace the front brake line on a single piston caliper on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before you start replace the brake hose for a single piston caliper brake unit you need to lift the vehicle and take off its front tires and wheels. After cleaning all dirt particles from the brake hoses and brake pipes you need to remove them. Put on a back up wrench to eliminate the brake hose from the pipe and connect a plug to protect the exposed brake pipe from leaks and dirt. Unscrew the brake hose bolt and gaskets from the brake caliper before drawing out the brake hose. Also detach the brake pipe fitting from the flex brake hose at the frame boundary and strip off the front brake hose retainer at the frame bracket. Lastly remove the front flex brake hose bolt and gaskets from the brake caliper and its housing. Discard any stuck copper gaskets found on the brake caliper or brake hose bolt since these old gaskets cannot be reharnessed. Set new copper gaskets on the brake hose bolt and join the Brake Caliper Bolt to the brake caliper before tightening the brake hose bolt to 44 nm (32 ft. Lbs.). Insert the brake hose into the exposed brake pipe fitting and install it without any twisting. Also avoid letting the brake hose contact nearby suspension components. Use a back up wrench to fasten the brake hose fitting until it reaches 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Install the brake pipe retainers. Complete brake system bleeding then put back the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How should the brake pipe fasteners be secured for the 2003 GMC Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
Secure the brake pipe fasteners to the vehicle and connect the brake pipe fittings, tightening them to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) for the BPMV or wheel jounce hoses and to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) for the master cylinder.
