    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the replacement process by raising the vehicle to check the retaining clip status. Replace the clip if found to be pressed flat or broken. The brake hose replacement starts by taking off the retaining clip from the mounting bracket. Next, use a back up wrench to unlink the Brake Line from the brake hose and place a rubber cap or plug on the exposed brake pipe fitting to block fluid leakage and distortion. Begin by disconnecting the Brake Line to the left Wheel Cylinder and then the Brake Line to the right Wheel Cylinder. Put rubber caps into both brake lines to seal them. Remove the mounting bolt for the brake hose and pull out the back brake hose assembly. Attach the Brake Line to the brake hose using proper connection tools then bolt it with 17 n.m pressure. Slot the new retaining clip for the rear brake hose onto its mounting bracket and fasten the mounting bolt at 19 n.m (14 lb ft). Insert the brake hose fitting in the exposed left Brake Line opening and torque it to 19 n.m (14 lb ft). Connect the brake lines to their brake hoses and set up the right Brake Line before filling the reservoir and servicing the brakes. Finally lower the vehicle.
