    To replace the Thermostat housing on 4.8l, 5.3l and 6.0l engines, you need to remove the radiator outlet hose, take out the Water Pump inlet bolts and remove the Water Pump inlet and Thermostat from the Water Pump, which the Thermostat is not serviceable but must be replaced as an assembly with the Water Pump inlet. For installation, place the Thermostat and the Thermostat housing on the Water Pump making sure to follow the fastener notice in service precautions, then, tighten Thermostat housing bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) and then reinstall radiator outlet hose.

    To replace the engine coolant Thermostat Housing (LY2, LH6, LY5, LMG, LY6), follow these steps with the draining of the cooling system. Second, take off the air cleaner outlet duct, and reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp at water pump inlet and take off the radiator outlet hose from the water pump inlet. Remove the water pump inlet bolts and the water pump inlet, discarding the old water pump inlet seal. For installation, install a new water pump inlet seal to the water pump inlet, place the water pump inlet to the water pump and install the water pump inlet bolts; tighten to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Reattach the outlet Radiator Hose back on the water pump inlet, reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp and reinstalling the air cleaner outlet duct. Finally, fill the cooling system.
