Before attaching the emblem/nameplate check that all adhesive has been eliminated from the surface. for body panels, utilize a 3M(TM) Scotch Bright molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07502) or an equivalent; The removal of body panel adhesive uses 3M(TM) Scotch Bright molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07502) or similar alternative while plastic panels need a lint-free cloth soaked in Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha or a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. Position the emblem after cleaning the area so the hole faces the fender. The J 25070 (J 25070) device will be used to heat the mounting area to between 27-41 degrees Celsius (80-105 degrees Fahrenheit) if required. The emblem/nameplate requires a temperature of 29-32°C (85-90°F) before pressing it to the surface but you must avoid touching the adhesive side. Take off the protective layer from the emblem/backing then hold the emblem names plate against the fender until the backing presses securely on the mounting location. Make consistent pressure to achieve uniform bonding. Finally, remove the protective tape.
