    Q:
How to replace the emblem/nameplate on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to handle the LeSabre emblem/nameplate panel is cleaning both parts with a soapy water blend and then drying them with a new cloth. Apply 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984 or its equivalent to completely take off gland from both panel and backside of emblem/nameplate. Apply your clean cloth to wipe any dirt from the surface before applying water and alcohol. Place masking tape or a magnet on the proper spot for the emblem/nameplate on the outer panel with both edges at marked distances from the facial molding top and outside panel edge. Heat the panel to 21°C using a heatgun or lamp when ambient temperature drops below that mark. When needed install double-coated automotive attachment tape from 3M like 3M 06380 with white backing and 3M 06377 for black backed patches or 3M 06382 gray backed material and similar products. Press the emblem/nameplate against the fixed panel surface until the adhesive bonds correctly. For the Tri-Shield emblem replacement begin with the normal washing drying and adhesive removal process. Use double-coated acrylic foam tape on the emblem/nameplate after you warm both components below 21°C (70°F) in need. Press the emblem's pin into the panel hole until it fixes tightly in the correct location.
