Backup Lamp Assembly, Passenger Side

In order to replace the tail lamp on a monte carlo, start by opening the back cabinet and extract the wingnut from the tail lamp. Pull the rear compartment trim panel back, and take out the lower wingnuts before you can remove the tail lamp from the rear body panel. Unplug the electrical connector to the tail lamp making sure to remember the exact path for the connection of the electrical wire in order to dodge any damages. Next, do not touch that part in-between, please just remove the socket of that part by turning it in the counterclockwise direction and then removing the bulb from the socket. In the same manner, take off the sidemarker lamp socket and turn it counterclockwise which then provide for taking out the bulb from that socket also. To install firstly place the bulb inside tail lamp socket then inside the sidemarker lamp socket and then tighten the sidemarker lamp socket by turning it in clockwise direction. Attach the tail lamp socket by tightening it clockwise, and make sure to organize the electrical wiring to avoid getting damaged. Then connect the electrical connector to the tail lamp, and install the tail lamp again on the back body panel, and fasten it with the lower wingnuts. Pull back the rear compartment trim panel into place and tighten the tail lamp with the upper wingnut before re-securing the rear compartment.

Detaching the back up lamp on a Monte Carlo requires you to unscrew the screws holding it then pull the lamp away from the rear bumper fascia. Rotate the back up lamp socket counterclockwise to extract it and pull out the back up lamp bulb from the socket. Connect the back up lamp bulb into its socket then lock the socket when you turn it right. Secure the back up lamp on the rear bumper fascia while observing the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions and fasten the screws to the lamp with a torque of 2 N.m (18 lb in).

Turn it counterclockwise and take out the bulb from the sidemarker lamp socket.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the taillamp and reinstall the taillamp onto the rear body panel, securing it with the lower wingnuts.

First, remove the screws securing the backup lamp, then take the backup lamp out from the rear bumper fascia.

It is important to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions to ensure proper installation and safety.

Install the tail lamp back onto the rear body panel, secure it with the lower wingnuts, pull back the rear compartment trim panel to the tail lamp, install the upper wingnut, and close the rear compartment.
