    Q:
How to replace the hood latch on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A car owner must begin by lifting up the hood before they remove the upper radiator support baffle. The hood release latch should have its two bolts removed before disconnecting any present hood ajar indicator switch connectors. The hood release cable end needs removal from the latch before taking out the hood release latch from the vehicle. Installation requires connection of the hood ajar indicator switch connector with the hood release cable end and the fitting of the hood release latch to the respective components. Replace the Hood Latch onto the radiator support while keeping the two Hood Latch bolts loosely installed. The Hood Latch height needs adjustment for proper hood retention against the front hood bumpers during closure. You should adjust front hood bumpers for level flush with the fenders before tightening Hood Latch bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Put back the upper radiator support baffle as the final step.

    Q:
How to replace the hood latch on Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start by elevating the hood then taking off the upper radiator support baffle. First disconnect the hood ajar indicator switch connector (when installed) by separating the connector. Then remove the two hood release latch bolts. The process begins by disconnecting the hood release cable end from the latch before taking out the hood release latch from the vehicle. The hood release cable end mounts to the latch and the hood ajar indicator switch connector when provided. Attach the Hood Latch onto the radiator support before inserting the two bolts but leave them loosely installed. The installer should modify the Hood Latch position to create a secure hold between the hood and front hood bumpers when the hood is closed. When operating on the hood perform the following sequence: first secure the Hood Latch bolts at 9 n.m (80 lb in) then adjust the front hood bumpers until the hood surface matches the fenders. You should reinstall the upper radiator support baffle as the last step.

How to replace the hood latch on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First raise the hood while performing this task then remove the upper radiator support baffle. The first step is to remove the hood release latch's two bolts. Additionally disconnect the hood ajar indicator switch connector when it is present. Once you disconnect the cable end of the hood release then take out the hood release latch from the car. The hood installation requires you to connect the hood release cable end to the latch and to restore the hood ajar indicator switch connector if available. Place the Hood Latch on the radiator support while keeping the Hood Latch bolts loosely installed. Set the latch at a height where the hood stays firmly fixed against the front hood bumpers before lifting the hood into position. Proceed with attaching the Hood Latch bolts with 9 n.m torque setting after adjusting the front hood bumpers to match the top edge of the hood with the fenders. Last step is to replace the upper radiator support baffle.
