    Q:
How to replace the ignition control module for Bank 2 on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
Engine sight shield removal begins with retracting its retaining bolts followed by disconnection of the Ignition Control Module electrical connector while also removing the engine oil level indicator. After completing the removal sequence you must remove the bolts that secure the ignition assembly before extracting the component. The next step involves removing both Ignition Control Module retaining screws while extracting the Ignition Control Module. Begin with Ignition Control Module installation before securing all retaining screws at 0.8 n.m (7 lb in torque). Install the ignition assembly grounding spring and insulator first then put in the ignition assembly while linking the Spark Plug boots to their respective spark plugs. Apply 9 n.m (80 lb in) of torque to the ignition assembly retaining bolts through the installation torque sequence. After reconnecting the ignition assembly electrical connector install the engine sight shield while tightening the retaining bolts to 8 n.m (70 lb in). The last installation step involves installing the engine oil level indicator.

    Q:
How to replace the ignition control module for Bank 1 on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin Bank 1 Ignition Control Module replacement by first unbolting and removing the engine sight shield retaining bolts and engine sight shield. First detach the electrical connector which powers up the ignition control module. To perform the replacement you must start by disconnecting the AIR system vacuum hoses (labeling their original positions first) and remove the AIR pipe to exhaust manifold bolts. You must also disconnect the AIR vent solenoid electrical connector when removing the AIR assembly. Following the removal sequence remove the ignition assembly retaining bolts before carefully taking out the ignition assembly. First remove all ignition control module retaining screws before removing the module itself. Start by installing the ignition control module followed by tightening its retaining screws to 0.8 N.m (7 lb in). Place the ignition assembly insulation and grounding spring correctly then install the ignition assembly with retaining bolts tightened to 9 N.m (80 lb in). During installation of an engine with AIR features first add the AIR assembly before attaching the AIR bracket using proper torque settings for the bracket's bolts. Install the AIR vacuum hoses and the AIR pipe to exhaust manifold bolts and the AIR vent solenoid electrical connector when present. After lastly completing installation of the engine sight shield equipment tighten its retaining bolts up to 8 N.m (70 lb. in.) while also reconnecting the ignition assembly electrical connector.
