    Q:
How to replace the rear automatic motor and transmission mount on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the rear automatic transmission mount first lift and support the vehicle. Pull off the power steering gear heat shield, and disconnect the power steering pressure hose and return hose from the Rack And Pinion and hang them from the exhaust pipe. Once you support the transaxle using a transaxle support stand it is now clear to remove nuts off the mount bracket along with the lower bolts and nut from the mount. Then, remove the three retaining bolts from the mount bracket, and remove the mount and mount bracket from the vehicle. For installation, install the mount and the mount bracket on the vehicle and apply thread lock compound gm p/n 12345493 or equivalent to the rear transmission bracket bolts. Mount the bracket onto the mounting surface such that the countersunk hole on the bracket aligns with the threaded hole in the mounting surface. Then install the retaining bolts to the mount bracket and tighten them in at 63 nm (46 ft. Lbs.) of torque. Mount the lower bolts and nut onto the transmission mount, tighten them to 50 nm (37ft.lbs.) and the upper nut on the mount, tighten to 50 nm (37ft.lbs.). Then remove the transaxle support stand, reinstall the power steering return hose and pressure hose to the Rack And Pinion and then the power steering gear heat shield. Finally, lower the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the rear Motor and Transmission Mount on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
A vehicle must be properly raised and supported before initiating a rear transmission mount replacement. Start by uninstalling the power steering gear heat shield before detaching the power steering pressure hose and power steering return hose from the Rack And Pinion. Then suspend these hoses from the exhaust pipe. First put a transaxle support stand under the transaxle before removing the mount bracket nuts followed by the lower bolts and mount nut. Begin by extracting the three retaining bolts from the mount bracket and afterwards detach the mount and mount bracket from your vehicle. Installation happens when you set the mount and mount bracket onto the vehicle structure applying gm p/n 12345493 thread lock compound or equivalent to rear transmission bracket bolts. Screw the mount bracket retaining bolts into position then torque them to 63 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). The mount requires the lower bolts and nut installation after which torque them to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) prior to tightening upper mount nuts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). First lower the transaxle support then reinstall power steering return hose and pressure hose onto the Rack And Pinion assembly followed by installation of power steering gear heat shield. Finally, lower the vehicle.

    Q:
How to Change the Motor and Transmission Mount on a Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the replacement process of the rear automatic transmission mount by elevating and supporting your vehicle. You need to eliminate the power steering gear heat shield before disconnecting both power steering hoses from the Rack And Pinion while suspending them from the exhaust pipe. The support stand for the transaxle should be put into place before you unscrew the mount bracket nuts followed by the lower mount bolts and nut. Begin the replacement task by removing three retaining bolts from the mount bracket then pulling out the mount bracket and mount from the vehicle. Start by placing the mount with the mount bracket on the vehicle while using gm p/n 12345493 thread lock compound or equivalent on rear transmission bracket bolts. Fix the retaining bolts to the mount bracket before torquing them to 63 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). After securing the lower nuts and bolts on the mount use a torque wrench set to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) before securing the upper bolts to a torque of 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). First remove the transaxle support stand before reinstalling the power steering return hose and pressure hose onto the Rack And Pinion assembly followed by the power steering gear heat shield. Finally, lower the vehicle.
