    Q:
How to replace the left automatic Motor and Transmission Mount on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by lifting the vehicle and supporting it before performing any work. First step is to take off the left front wheel with its tire then remove the left front splash shield. The transaxle needs support from a jackstand combined with a wooden block before disconnecting the through bolt on the transmission mount. The rear upper mount bolt should remain inside while you unthread it before you remove all three other bolts which will let you detach the mount. It's time to install the rear upper mount on the new mount by placing it properly before beginning installation of the rear upper bolt into the threaded area. Slowly thread in the rest of the bolts before hand-tightening all four mount bolts to measure 66 nm (49 ft. Lbs.). After mounting the transmission mount with its through bolt you must torque it to 55 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). After removing the jackstand and wood block you can reinstall the left splash shield followed by reattachment of the left tire and wheel assembly. Finally, lower the vehicle.
