    Q:
How to Replace the Emblem on Rear Fascia on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
You will need both a Heat Gun model J 25070 and a 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk 3M(TM) P/N 07502 to repair the Buick rear fascia emblem/nameplate. Apply tape first to shield the mounting area and establish setup marks before installation. Point the Heat Gun at the emblem/nameplate for 30 seconds while applying circular motion until the object gets sufficient heat. Use a plastic tipped flat tool to defend paint during removal. For body panels use the 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07502), while for plastic panels use a lint-free cloth soaked in VMP naphtha diluted with water or isopropyl alcohol. Wipe the application space with a dry lint-free cloth and the same cleaning solution before letting it dry completely. Mark where you need to put the emblem using tape then raise mounting surface temperature to 80-105°F (27-41°C) but keep emblem/nameplate near 85-90°F (29-32°C). Place the emblem/nameplate in the recessed area and apply even force to the mounting surface before pressing the device against it. Take off adhesive tape from where the item will be mounted.
