    Q:
How to replace the vacuum brake booster on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before starting to replace the vacuum Brake Booster you should disconnect the fuel injector sight shield then the accelerator control cable plus its bracket. Unplug the Cruise Control Module but maintain it within reach and free the electrical connector from the EGR Valve before taking out engine harness clips. Take off the brake fluid level sensor wire connector from its location. Before you set down the master cylinder take out its mounting nuts then put the master cylinder safely to a side. You need to remove the vacuum Brake Booster check valve plus the left insulator panel, left knee bolster bracket and steering column support mounting nuts. Place the lowered steering column on mechanical wire support and disconnect both the stop lamp/abs/shift lock switch and tcc/cruise control release switch from the Brake Pedal assembly. Remove the Brake Pedal Pushrod retainer clip together with foam spacer and Pushrod before taking out the Brake Booster attaching nuts from the pedal assembly and the Brake Booster itself along with its mounting gasket if you need to replace it. Reinstall the vacuum Brake Booster into its vehicle placement by first putting on a new vacuum Brake Booster mounting gasket if necessary. Fix the Pushrod and foam spacer to the Brake Pedal clevis after inserting them into its pin. Secure the booster attaching nuts to the booster studs by tightening them to 23 nm. Put back the connections between tcc/cruise control, stop lamp plus abs/shift lock to Brake Pedal assembly before placing the master cylinder on top of the booster. Put back the steering column, left knee bolster bracket, left insulator panel, and vacuum booster check valve. Paste the brake fluid level sensor cable connector to the Cruise Control Module before fitting the accelerator control cable bracket and cable. Secure the EGR Valve electrical connector before putting back engine harness clips and fuel injector sight shield.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Brake Booster on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start your replacement by removing the fuel injector sight shield before taking out the accelerator control cable with its bracket and placing them safely away. First disconnect the electrical connections from the EGR Valve and Cruise Control Module then detach relevant engine harness clips. Set aside the wiring harness and remove the brake fluid level sensor wire connection. Set the brake master cylinder on a protected surface after loosening its connecting nuts then taking the unit off the car. To lower the column you should first remove parts on the left side including the insulator panel and knee bolster bracket followed by steering support mounts which can then let you place the column on mechanical wire supports. Detach the Brake Pedal sensors from their electrical connections at the switch points. Take away the Brake Booster Pushrod retainer clip and foam spacer from the Brake Pedal along with the Pushrod. Extract the vacuum Brake Booster attaching nuts and lift out the vacuum Brake Booster from the car along with its mounting gasket when required. Put back the booster gasket when it was removed before placing the vacuum Brake Booster in its vehicle position. Secure the vacuum Brake Booster Pushrod to Brake Pedal clevis pin first then add the foam spacer and retainer clip. Thread the booster nuts at 23 n.m (17 lb ft) and tighten them securely. Add back the tcc/cruise control release switch and the stop lamp/abs/shift lock switch to their positions on the Brake Pedal assembly. Install first the master cylinder on top of the booster then put on Steering Column left knee bolster bracket and left insulator panel. Reconnect the vacuum booster check valve and wire in the brake fluid level sensor and Cruise Control Module. Attach the accelerator control cable hardware while connecting the power connectors to the EGR Valve and engine harness.

    Q:
How to replace the vacuum brake booster on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin replacing the vacuum Brake Booster by disconnecting the electric connector from the brake fluid sensor first then removing the master cylinder mounting nuts without separating brake pipes. Set the master cylinder aside by moving it forward gently to avoid touching or bending brake pipes. Disconnect the washer solvent reservoir before taking out the Brake Booster vacuum check valve plus hose while positioning everything aside. Also detach the electrical connector from the EGR Valve and place it on the side. Lower your Steering Column and unplug the Brake Booster Pushrod retainer while you take out its foam spacer from the Brake Pedal clevis pin. Detach the Pushrod from its Brake Pedal connection before removing the Brake Pedal assembly through the booster stud mounting nuts to take out the vacuum Brake Booster along with the Brake Booster mounting gasket if required. Before installation put the new Brake Booster mounting gasket on the unit then fit the booster to its vehicle location and tighten the mounting nuts on the Brake Pedal assembly to 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.). Use a small amount of 12346293 lubricant or an equivalent on the Brake Pedal clevis pin before connecting it with the Brake Booster Pushrod. Put the foam spacer and retainer clip on the Brake Pedal clevis pin before replacing the left closeout panel and washer solvent reservoir. At last place the master cylinder onto the booster before reconnecting the vacuum check valve to the Brake Booster and electrical connectors both to the fluid level sensor and the EGR Valve.
