Power Steering Pump

When replacing the Power Steering Pump (L26) begin by removing the Drive Belt then raising the vehicle while keeping it securely supported. A drain pan should be placed below to start while disconnecting the power steering pressure hose and return hose from the pump and removing the wiring harness. Lower the vehicle then take out the coolant recovery reservoir before removing the Power Steering Pump retaining bolts to extract the pump. The power steering pulley requires transfer in case of necessary installation. Apply new Power Steering Pump to the motor before installing retaining bolts which must reach 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque specification. You should add the coolant recovery reservoir before hooking up the wiring harness and finally fastening the power steering pressure hose at 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). The vehicle should lower and the power steering return hose needs to be connected while also reattaching the Drive Belt. During the last step bleed the power steering system while checking for fluid leaks.

The process of replacing the Power Steering Pump (LD8) requires users to start by removing the Drive Belt and installing a drain pan below the vehicle. The power steering return hose needs detachment from the Power Steering Reservoir before removing the power steering pressure hose from the Power Steering Pump. Begin by removing the Power Steering Pump mounting bolt on top of the vehicle to extract the Power Steering Pump followed by the power steering pulley and Power Steering Reservoir. When performing installation begin by installing the reservoir for the power steering system followed by the power steering pulley. When reinstalling the Power Steering Pump into the vehicle install the Power Steering Pump mounting bolt while tightening it to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Fitting the power steering pressure hose to the Power Steering Reservoir should be done with a torque of 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.) while the power steering return hose needs fitting onto the Power Steering Reservoir. You should install the Drive Belt before performing power steering bleeding while the drain pan stays under the vehicle.

The drain pan removal under the vehicle completes the process before Drive Belt installation and power steering system bleeding.
