    Replacing the Power Steering Pump for a 4.2l engine requires you to start by removing the air cleaner assembly and Drive Belt followed by placing a drain pan beneath the vehicle. The first step involves disconnecting power steering pressure hose and power steering cooler hose from the pump before proceeding to disconnect the wiring harness from the wiring loom on the pump. Unbolt the mounting brackets after which you should take out the Power Steering Pump and its associated Power Steering Pump pulley. The first step of installation requires setting the Power Steering Pump pulley before you put on the Power Steering Pump. The service precautions fastener notice requires following and the mounting bolts need tightening to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). You should install and tighten both the power steering cooler hose along with the power steering pressure hose . Tighten the pressure hose to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the Drive Belt and the air cleaner assembly once you have collected the drain pan. Conclude the procedure by bleeding the power steering system while checking for leaks along with verifying that steering hoses have sufficient space away from the frame and other components.
