How to replace the Trunk Lock Cylinder in the rear compartment lid on Cadillac Eldorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin replacement of the lock cylinder in the rear compartment lid by detaching the rear compartment lid trim. Start by taking away the lock cylinder emblem before disconnecting the lock release cable from behind the cylinder assembly. Use a flat tool to take out the retainer with its tip protected by a wood wedge when shifting the lid's inner panel. Free the electrical plug and take out the cylinder from the rear compartment lid. Place the gasket onto the lock cylinder unit then put the lock cylinder within the rear compartment lid space. Push the retainer into its place before reconnecting the electrical cable and fastening the lock-releasing wire to the back of the cylinder. Reattach the factory parts of the rear compartment lid trim and its emblem.
