    Q:
How to replace the outer tie rod end on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start replacement of the outer Tie Rod End by using the j 24319-b (J 24319-B) universal steering linkage puller to divide all tie rod ends from each other. Start the procedure by removing the front tire with wheel while you take off the outer tie rod ball stud nut and loosen its jam nut . The j 24319-b (J 24319-B) universal steering linkage puller should be used for removing the outer tie rod ball stud from the Steering Knuckle. Proceed with checking the inner tie rod shaft for bending or damaged threads after removing the Tie Rod End from it. Proceed with installation only after cleaning the tapered surface of the Steering Knuckle. Insert the new Tie Rod End to the inner tie rod shaft before installing the outer tie rod ball stud onto the Steering Knuckle. New prevailing torque nut should be used to fasten the outer tie rod ball stud to the Steering Knuckle with a torque setting at 45 n.m (33 lb ft). The service procedure includes installing the front tire together with the wheel then adjusting the front toe followed by tightening the jam nut until it reaches 75 n.m (55 lb ft).
