Tie Rod, Inner

A proper inner Tie Rod replacement process begins when you raise the vehicle then detach the tire with its wheel assembly. You should then remove the Rack And Pinion boot. Changing the rack bearing preload adjustment before inner Tie Rod removal will cause harm to both pinion and steering rack components. Place the shock dampener off the inner Tie Rod and return it to the alignment with the rack . Start by attaching j34028 inner Tie Rod wrench to the flat surfaces of the inner Tie Rod housing then twist it counterclockwise until the inner Tie Rod disconnects from the rack assembly. The threads of the rack and inner Tie Rod require cleaning of existing loctite (R) residues before use. Dampen the inner Tie Rod threads with loctite (R) 262 (or equivalent) before connecting the inner Tie Rod to Rack And Pinion assembly. The torque wrench should be used to reach 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) of torque on the inner Tie Rod when the rack is held in position. Install the shock dampener onto the inner Tie Rod housing until the end reaches the housing's bottom then put on the Rack And Pinion boot along with tire and wheel assembly. After taking off safety stands you can lower the vehicle before testing the wheel alignment.

Attach it to the steering knuckle.
