    Q:
How to replace the Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) on Chevrolet K3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Open the hood, lift and support the vehicle and remove the tire and wheel to start servicing the wss. After that, remove the brake rotor (2) and the wss mounting bolt and then uninstall the Wheel Speed Sensor (5) from the hub/bearing assembly (4). Disconnect the mounting clips for the wss cable from the knuckle, upper Control Arm and onto the frame. After that, take out the wss electrical cable connection as well. Put the wss (5) back into the hub/bearing assembly (4) and hold it in place with the mounting bolt, tightening it to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Fix the wss cable mounting clips to the knuckle, upper Control Arm and frame location next and install the electrical connector where the wss cable is attached. At last, fit in the brake rotor (2) and reinstall the tire and wheel.

    Q:
How to replace the Wheel Speed Sensor on GMC C3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the Wheel Speed Sensor replacement by raising your vehicle and taking off the tire and wheel. Start with removing both hub and rotor parts before you go on to take away the splash shield. Pull out the wire mounting clips from both the upper king pin cap and the frame rail. Pull out the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector then take off the sensor from its mounting bracket. Set the new Wheel Speed Sensor in place through the mounting bracket slots so you get proper positioning between the sensor and the tone wheel. Mount the Wheel Speed Sensor to the bracket and thread in its mounting nuts loosely. Set the front hub and rotor on a flat surface with tone wheel up to mark the rotor placement on the hub. Unscrew all rotor bolts at the hub and lift the rotor from its position. Set the bearing seal and inner bearing in place afterward put the hub and tone wheel assembly onto the knuckle spindle while maintaining Wheel Speed Sensor damage prevention. Fit the wheel bearing nut together with the outer hub bearing and washer before tightening it to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.) as you rotate the hub. Keep tightening the wheel bearing nut when completing these tasks. Press 1.5 mm (0.060 inch) thick flexible or equivalent material between the tone wheel and Wheel Speed Sensor before pressing the sensor tightly onto them. Secure all wss nuts with 13 nm torque and follow specified sequences before removing shim stock to test if the tone wheel touches the speed sensor when the hub spins. Apply the splash shield to its anchor position while running Wheel Speed Sensor wire through its designated opening and fasten it with three bolts tightened to 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Position the sensor wire between the splash shield and knuckle before putting Wheel Speed Sensor clips on together with their bolts. Tighten bolts and to 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Disconnect the Wheel Speed Sensor cable then remove the hub rotor along with its tone wheel from the steering knuckle before installing the hub rotor onto the Wheel Hub and tightening its bolts to 237 nm. Reinstall the hub piece first then put on the rotor assembly and fit the wheel onto the tire.
