    To replace the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or change it to the Engine Oil Pressure Switch, first, remove the engine sight shield. Remove the oil pressure sensor electrical connector and apply the Oil Pressure Sensor Socket (J 41712) to take the oil pressure sensor off. Apply GM P/N 12346004 (or Canadian 10953480) or equivalent sealant to the threads of the new oil pressure sensor, then install it in the Oil pressure sensor socket (J 41712), and tighten to 30 Nm (22 FT LBS). Reconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector, and install the engine sight shield.

Use the Oil Pressure Switch Socket (J 41712) to install the oil pressure sensor before torquing it down to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). The final step involves connecting the electrical connection of the oil pressure sensor and possibly reinstalling the engine sight shield.

Sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or its equivalent needs to be applied to the threads of the new oil pressure sensor. Use the Oil Pressure Switch Socket (J 41712) to install the oil pressure sensor while tightening it to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). After finishing you must connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector and you may also need to reinstall the engine sight shield.

    To change the engine oil pressure sensor/switch, it is required the tool, which is the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712). First, remove the Intake Manifold and then disconnect the engine harness electric connector from the oil pressure sensor. In case the vehicle is not equipped with the active fuel management, apply the adapter: Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712), and remove the oil pressure sensor (706) and washer (707). For the vehicles with active fuel management, do the same removal using the same socket. For installation, till the threads of the new oil pressure sensor for sealant. If the vehicle ha an active fuel management, then install the oil pressure sensor (706) and washer (707) using the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J41712), applying the torque of 35 n.m (26lb ft) to the sensor. If not equipped with active fuel management, then procedure the same for installation. Lastly, reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor and tighten it to 35 n.m (26 lb ft) before reinstallation of the Intake Manifold.

Reconnect oil pressure sensor electrical connector and replace the engine sight shield.
