Oil Pressure Switch

Remove the oil filter adapter as the first step, then get the engine oil pressure sensor or switch out from the oil filter adapter. Wipe and examine the oil filter adapter, and only then put a new O-ring on the oil pressure switch. After that, join the oil pressure switch to the oil filter adapter and tighten it firmly to 16 N.m (12 lb ft). The last step is to put the oil filter adapter back in the engine.

The first step in replacing an engine oil pressure sensor or switch is to elevate the vehicle and use supports. Use an oil pressure sender switch wrench measuring 1 1/16" to disconnect the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure switch before eliminating the switch from its adapter position. Add a new O-ring to your oil pressure switch before installation but maintain all necessary tightening cautions. Secure the engine oil pressure switch at the oil filter adapter using an oil pressure sender switch wrench (1 1/16") or equivalent while tightening it to 16 Nm (12 lb ft). Connect the electrical connector to the engine oil pressure switch afterward lower the vehicle and check for leaks before filling the oil to the full mark while starting the engine.

In order to replace the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or Switch, come off first, the oil filter adapter after which remove the oil pressure sensor and or switch from filter adapter. Check and replace the oil filter adapter. Also, make sure it is clean. After that, put a new O-ring over the oil pressure switch, making a sure you adhere to the Component Fastener Tightening Notice, and then screw the oil pressure switch to the oil filter adapter, tighting it to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.). Finally, replace the oil filter adapter.

Before replacing the engine oil pressure sensor or switch users should first elevate and maintain the vehicle. First disconnect the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure switch. The Snap-On S 6152 Oil Pressure Sender Switch Crowfoot Wrench (1 1/16") or an equivalent wrench should be used to remove the engine oil pressure switch from the oil filter adapter. Before installing the new O-ring on the oil pressure switch you must follow the component fastener tightening notice. Use a Snap-On S 6152 Oil Pressure Sender Switch Crowfoot Wrench (1 1/16") or equivalent to mount the engine oil pressure switch to the oil filter adapter while applying 16 N.m (12 lb ft) of torque. After installing the new O-ring on the switch, connect the electrical wiring, lower the vehicle, set the oil level at full capacity then inspect for leaks upon engine engine start.

Install the oil pressure sensor and tighten it to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.), ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.

Raise and support the vehicle.

Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector and reinstall the front compartment sight shield as necessary.

Remove the front compartment sight shield as necessary.

Turn the ignition OFF.

Install the oil pressure sensor and tighten it to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

Raise and support the vehicle.
