    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace a Steering Wheel involves disabling sir and removing the inflator module. You can remove the horn plunger from the Steering Column after pressing it toward the stop and turning the plunger 90 degrees, then disconnect the Steering Wheel electrical cable. The Steering Wheel's retaining nut requires removal from its position which secures it to the Steering Wheel shaft. The correct tools to protect the Steering Column include j1859-a (J1859-A) combined with j36541-a (J36541-A). Start by applying j1859-a (J1859-A) and j36541-a (J36541-A) to the Steering Wheel then pull it away with these tools. After fixing the Steering Wheel onto the Steering Wheel shaft users should tighten the retaining nut to 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the Steering Wheel electrical connector after connecting it. Finish with horn plunger and deflator module setup before enabling sir system functions.

    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for replacing the Steering Wheel starts with securing front wheels in their straight position followed by disabling the sir system. The access hole in the lower Steering Column trim allows you to place the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) to lock the Steering Column. First mark the relationship of the Steering Wheel to the Steering Shaft by placing an alignment mark before you remove the inflator module. Start by removing the Steering Wheel nut followed by gentle lifting of the Steering Wheel from the Steering Column. Set the front wheels directly in front while installing the replacement Steering Wheel. Align your replacement Steering Wheel at the 12 o'clock position facing the arrow so the tooth alignment remains proper. For the replacement of the initial Steering Wheel align it by using the reference points established during uninstallation. Put the Steering Wheel over the Steering Shaft before bolting the Steering Wheel nut into place at 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.). The last step includes unlocking the Steering Column by taking away the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) through the lower trim cover access hole followed by reinstallation of the inflator module and sir system activation.
