    How to replace the left rear door striker on GMC C3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
    A proper replacement of the left rear door striker requires you to start by uninstalling trim panel components including the water deflector and access hole cover. Mark the spot where the striker bolt spacer needs to be placed on the door pillar. The installation needs the J 29843-9 TORX(R) Bit (Bit Size T47) to detach the striking bolt that functions as a special bolt with washer at the left door opening to activate the locking system. When installing put the striker bolt into the door pillar retaining plate while ensuring the striker bolt spacer sits at its marked location. Position and tighten the spacing piece with the J 29843-9 until it reaches a torque of 63 N.m (46 lb ft). Reinstall the access hole cover and water deflector as well as trim panel according to their positions.
