    Q:
How to address issues with the Trunk Lid Lift Support on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start replacement by opening then holding up the rear compartment lid. Use a small flat tool to lift the locking clip on the strut upper ball stud then push out the upper ball stud. Use the tool to lift the docking clip from the lower ball stud and press out both ball studs to take the hinge away from the strut. Place the new rear compartment lid strut on the hinge by pushing down the lower ball stud first then the upper ball stud while keeping both locking clips secured. To finish the process unscrew the rear compartment support before placing the lid cover back in its position.

Insert the same tool under the lodging clip of the lower ball stud and push out both half studs to detach the rear compartment lid strut from the hinge. Place the new strut on the hinge before pushing together the lower ball stud and then the upper ball stud while making sure locking clips stay closed. Press out both ball studs from the rear compartment lid support and reposition the assembly over the rear compartment.

How to replace the rear Trunk Lid Lift Support on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
To install the new rear compartment lid strut first prop up the open lid at the back of the car.
