    Q:
How to replace the coolant reservoir on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
As the first step in replacing the coolant reservoir, drain the coolant. The Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) help move coolant reservoir inlet hose clamp positions before removing the inlet hose from the coolant reservoir. First, separate the coolant reservoir from its bracket by extending its mounting tabs, then disconnect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector. The Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) should be used to reposition the outlet hose clamp before the outlet hose and coolant reservoir are removed. Position the outlet hose clamp onto the coolant reservoir following installation by using Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Connect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector, then use the coolant reservoir's tilt to guide the weld seam under the ribs at the back of the mounting bracket while pressing down for the mounting tabs to secure into place. Check the coolant reservoir tabs engagement by pulling upward and install the inlet hose while using Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) for hose clamp repositioning. Put the coolant inside the tank before installing its protective cap.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Coolant Reservoir on a Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the coolant reservoir, drain the coolant first. From below the platform, use the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) to move the coolant reservoir inlet hose clamp to the coolant reservoir, and then remove the inlet hose. Flex the coolant reservoir mounting tabs outwards to allow it to overcome the bracket and disconnect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector. Once again with the help of the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185), reposition the coolant reservoir outlet hose clamp and pull out the outlet hose before you pull out the coolant reservoir. When installing, connect the outlet hose to the coolant reservoir and move the outlet hose clamp with the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Attach the coolant level sensor wire harness connector, tilt the coolant reservoir to direct the weld seam under the ribs at the rear portion of its mounting bracket, press down to catch the mounting tabs and hence pull the upward enabling the tabs to lock into the bracket. Next, install hose - inlet and relocate inlet hose clamp with the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Lastly, drain the coolant and put a coolant reservoir cap on it.
