• Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on 2006 Chevrolet Malibu?

  A: In order to exchange the coolant reservoir, it shall be necessary to drain the coolant. Remove hose clamp on coolant reservoir inlet hose using Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185), and redirect the clamp to another position, then release the coolant reservoir inlet hose. Flex the coolant reservoir mounting tabs outward to take it off the bracket and disconnect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector. Once more, employ the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) again to reposition the coolant reservoir outlet hose clamp prior to removing the outlet hose and the coolant reservoir, as a result. For installation, hook the outlet hose to the coolant reservoir and relocate the outlet hose clamp using the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Connect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector along with the tilt of the coolant reservoir to direct the weld seam beneath the ribs on the mounting bracket located at the back of the mounting bracket and press down to insert the mounting tabs into the bracket while tugging upward on the coolant reservoir. Next, connect the inlet hose to the coolant reservoir and remount the inlet hose clamp with Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Lastly, top up the coolant and place the coolant reservoir cap in its position.
