    Q:
How to replace the Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
First replace the engine Oil Cooler Hose/pipe only when the engine has sufficiently cooled down to prevent burns. An oil filter adapter drain pan should be set in place before removing the oil filter adapter assembly bolt and.disconnecting the lines from the oil filter assembly. Begin by using a wrench to detach the engine oil cooler line to engine bracket bolt then remove the lines one at a time from both engine bracket and Radiator. The engine oil cooler lines should be cleaned using an appropriate solvent until all components are completely dry by blowing through them with compressed air. Check all connector fittings and connectors and engine oil cooler lines for any sign of damage or distortion. Before you install new engine oil cooler lines make sure you inspect them for any plastic caps that are damaged or missing because you need to replace them if they are missing. Follow installation procedures by securing the engine lines to their bracket and using a torque wrench to tighten the engine oil cooler line bracket bolt to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). At the conclusion attach the engine oil cooler lines to the oil filter adapter assembly before using a torque wrench to apply 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.) of force to the oil cooler lines to oil filter adapter assembly bolt.
