    Q:
How to replace the inlet oil cooler hose on Chevrolet Lumina? Posted by Customer
    A:
To make the change of oil cooler inlet line, first, drain the coolant from engine's cooling system. Raise and support the vehicle in a suitable manner. Remove the knock sensor's electrical harness connector, disconnect it, and then remove the Oil Filter. Pull the oil cooler outlet hose away from the oil cooler and remove the oil cooler connector. Then, you need to remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler, then you need to remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp, Oil Cooler Hose from the Oil Cooler Hose fitting. If required, remove the fitting of the Oil Cooler Hose. For installation, if the Oil Cooler Hose fitting was unscrewed, screw it back and tighten up to 19 nm (14.ft lbs.). Twist on the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose into the Oil Cooler Hose fitting in such a way that it is secured and the seal is coated with engine oil. Mount the oil cooler connector and tighten it to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs) and hook up the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler. Replace the Oil Filter, connect the knock sensor electrical wiring harness connector, and lower the vehicle. Add engine oil if necessary and check the oil cooler for leaks, then fill the cooling system with engine coolant.

    Q:
How to replace the Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Line on Chevrolet Lumina? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for replacing an a/t oil cooler hose begins with properly supporting the vehicle and securing enough clearance for transaxle oil cooler pipes and hoses to avoid fluid leakage due to wear or damage. Place a drain pan while removing the transaxle oil cooler hoses from the fittings at the transaxle oil cooler compartment. The next step involves removing transaxle oil cooler clamps from the hoses at both transaxle oil cooler or auxiliary transaxle oil cooler pipes that attach to the Radiator. Afterwards disconnect the hoses from their positions at the Radiator. One should remove the hose clip bolt securing the transaxle oil cooler hose so the hoses become accessible. Install new hoses with a proper thread fit to prevent leaks during installation of the hose clip bolt which should reach 25 nm torque (18 ft. Lbs). After attaching hoses to transaxle oil cooler or auxiliary transaxle oil cooler pipes at the Radiator it is necessary to add the clamps. Secure the transaxle oil cooler fittings through a hose connection process using 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs) torque. Lower the vehicle while avoiding transaxle overfilling because excessive fluid can produce foam that results in shift complaints alongside potential vehicle damage and fluid loss. Verify the fluid level of the system then inspect the repaired areas before searching for fluid leakage.
