    Q:
How to Replace an A/C Hose in the Evaporator Hose Assembly on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process starts by recovering the refrigerant before continuing. First remove the right front fender liner before disconnecting the evaporator hose assembly from the evaporator to remove its seal washer. Remove the bolt securing the evaporator hose assembly to the condenser and remove the hose assembly by discarding the seal washer. Unclip the two retainers holding the evaporator hose assembly before you remove it from its position entirely. When installing the evaporator hose assembly you must first place it properly then secure both clips. You should put a new seal washer at the condenser end of the compressor hose then attach the evaporator hose assembly to the evaporator. The user must tighten the evaporator hose assembly nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) torque. Proceed by installing a new seal washer at the condenser end of the evaporator hose assembly before connecting it to the condenser while tightening the fitting bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). The right front fender liner gets reinstalled while the vehicle lowers before proceeding with refrigerant system evacuation and charging. Conduct a leak test of the component fittings by operating the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
