    Q:
How to service the EGR Valve without disassembling it on Chevrolet K3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service procedure requires not dissassembling the linear exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve due to its assembly-only servicing requirements. Before beginning removal process maintain a record of the EGR Valve orientation because it should not face in a 180-degree direction. First disconnect the negative Battery Cable then disconnect the EGR Valve harness connector before performing any service operations since soaking the linear EGR Valve in solvent cleaners may result in damage. Start by removing the flange gasket followed by the linear EGR Valve itself before proceeding to disconnect the valve to flange attaching bolts. Prepare the linear EGR Valve gasket surface before adding it into place for installation. Install a new flange gasket followed by the linear EGR Valve into position before torquing the valve to flange bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in.) each and finally tightening them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) each. The last step involves harness reconnection of the EGR Valve and Battery Cable negation.

    Q:
How should the EGR Valve be serviced and installed on GMC C2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service of the EGR Valve requires maintenance as a whole assembly without attempting to break it down. Prior to removing the EGR valve properly record its current position to avoid accidental 180-degree rotation. Start with EGR electrical connector detachment then proceed to break all fasteners holding the valve to the flange connection. Any liquid contact with the EGR valve through cleaning or solvent exposure may result in damage because it functions as an electrical component. The procedure requires complete removal of the EGR valve together with the flange gasket before cleaning the gasket attachment surface. The first step for installation requires using a new flange gasket before placing the EGR valve. Begin by installing the valve to flange fasteners before first tightening them to 10 N.m (89 lb in) and secondly tightening them to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Finally, reconnect the electrical connector.

    Q:
How to service the EGR Valve without disassembling it on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service the linear EGR Valve under the condition that disassembly should be avoided since it requires full assembly service. Take note of the exhaust gas recirculation valve position before removal to make sure it does not rotate by 180 degrees. Start by disconnecting the Battery Cable and taking out the air cleaner assembly from its position. Service the EGR Valve by disconnecting its harness connector but keep the linear EGR Valve free from all liquid cleaners or solvents because it is an electrical component that may suffer damage. Detach the EGR Valve to flange bolts and extract the linear EGR Valve unit with its associated flange gasket. Before installing the linear EGR Valve it is necessary to thoroughly clean its gasket surface. Fix the new flange gasket to the linear EGR Valve while closely following the fastener notice. Begin by tightening each of the valve-to-flange bolts to 10 n.m until they reach 89 lb in torque while completing the second step by tightening the bolts to 25 n.m at 18 lb ft torque. The EGR Valve harness connector must be reconnected after reinstalling the air cleaner assembly while completing the process by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
